Winter Typika
52 Weeks of Orthodoxy: A photo a week from our life in Christ in the Orthodox Church
On January 16, we held a small reader’s service called Typika in which the laity read the prayers and a subdeacon or deacon reads the gospel. With ice and snow forecasted, the roads were treacherous in some areas and most people stayed put in their homes. We were able to attend the brief service along with a few brave parishioners. Right as Typika concluded, it started snowing. The beauty of the winter weather seemed fitting as a conclusion to our worshipful prayers. On the way out the door I grabbed most of our crowd for a quick pic before running to the shelter of my truck.
